God is Good - All the Time!

Little boys, as they are growing up, like to play battle. We read of different battles in history and we hear of battles going on even now across the world. We can even find various battles in the Old Testament.

When we speak of spiritual battles, how many of us run away from the topic or can't really relate? I'm sure I would have been one that felt this way at one time or another.

Spiritual battles are being won and lost all around us. Sometimes we are called to go in to battle for someone and other times we are not even aware of these battles… in ourselves or others. Ephesians 6 describes what we are to do in these battles and acknowledges that these battles do exist and that we can be victorious! As we draw closer and closer to the Lord, we fight these battles on a daily basis!

My flesh hates these battles. I grow weary. Just the other day I was reading in Psalms and found encouragement though. It is best to read the context surrounding the passage, but I loved reading "my flesh also shall rest in hope" Psalm 16:9.

Our week has been full of battles. It is a sign that we are doing God's work. The enemy wants to stop us and thus begins a battle. Our hope comes from knowing that even when we are weak, God is fighting these battles for us! Even in our weakness, God is Good…. All the Time!

The battles have come in the form of transportation failures, internet problems, sickness and attitudes. In EACH situation, we have been blessed with miracles and victories! One such instance was Thursday evening. Our internet had not been working all day and I was very sick. Dave wanted to send an email to our pastor and we were looking forward to listening to some good Bible teaching as encouragement. Both of these required internet and we were about to give up hope of it working at the appropriate time. In just enough time, our internet started working for Dave to send the email and for us to hear the Bible teaching… including a much needed prayer time. As soon as this was over, the internet stopped working again for the rest of the night. What a blessing! We give God the praise for that Victory!

You are asked to come in to the battle with us. Please join us in praying! We are grateful for those of you who are so faithful in lifting us up. Your prayers encourage and strengthen us and help us in these victories!

Wow, what a Great answer to prayer. God is good and keep writing as it helps us to get through our days here in Oregon. Love you all and will keep praying.

Hebrews 11:13,15,16

... These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and were PERSUADED of them, and EMBRACED them, and CONFESSED that they were STRANGERS and PILGRIMS on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country... But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
