Our time here is coming to a close … for this year!
I have tried to keep a journal of our days here in Italy and in Germany, and it is interesting to go back and read what God has done and the people that we've come in contact with.
That is what we are here for …. the people. We have met so many and from all different areas of the world. Maybe one has called out to God in the last couple months? Maybe one has a heart that is growing softer to the seed of Christ and another servant will come and water?
We have started packing and we continue working. This morning we all went out in our own neighborhood and passed out tracts to all the mailboxes. What a blessing it was to hear our daughter pray for an old man she saw reading the tract.
Please continue praying for our neighbor, Anna. Her husband died about four years ago and in my conversations with her about God, she has told me that she gave up on God when her husband died. I told her that God loves her and gave her more Bible verses. She is very sad that we are leaving. Just today, she asked me when we would return. "Io no so, " I said…. " I don't know".
As we prepare to leave, we ask that you pray for us as well. God holds our future in His hands. What a comfort to leave our cares with Him!
Welcome to our ministry blog. We invite you to read about what God is doing as we reach the world for Christ
from the streets of Rome. As you read, please pray! Our Next Ministry Trip will be starting April 11, 2022.

A Little R&R
I am amazed at some of the responses that we get when we tell people we are going to Italy for three months. I must admit that I take for granted sometimes the fact that we are in this beautiful area! To us however, it is just a place with people that God has put on our hearts. Oh how we love these people and the burden that we have for them is great!
With all that said, we sometimes do get to enjoy the scenery that this area holds. Last week, we had the opportunity to go and visit long time friends who live near Venice. For their sakes, we are so glad we did! Please pray that God would continue to deal with Attilio and his wife, Lucianna. There was spiritual discussion like there has not been before and we were able to give them a Bible in Italian.
Here is a link of a song that I have been thinking on lately. It is an encouragement to me and maybe you would enjoy it too.

The Sainting in Pictures
It has been a few days, but I wanted to be sure and get these pictures posted for you. We have been on the go now for several weeks and now that we have settled down a little, all of a sudden, we are exhausted! Please keep us in your prayers. Time will give us rest, but it is hard to come down off the mountain.

Big Events
This is going to have to be a quick post, but we wanted you to have this information so that you would know how to pray….
There are big things happening here and the atmosphere seems to be even bigger than the events that took place last year with the crowning of a new p*pe.
For those of you who are not aware, Sunday, April 27th two p*pes will be sainted. According to the Bible, once you are saved, you are a saint. If you have never looked at this, it makes a great Bible Study! According to Cath*licism, there are several steps required and several processes. Here is one of them…
"Saint" (contracted "St" or "S.") To be canonized a saint, at least two miracles must have been performed through the saint's intercession after his or her death (i.e., an additional miracle after that granting beatification). Canonization is a statement by the church that the person certainly enjoys the Beatific Vision. The saint is assigned a feast day which may be celebrated anywhere within the Catholic Church, although it may or may not appear on the general calendar or local calendars as an obligatory feast, parish churches may be built in his or her honor, and the faithful may freely and without restriction celebrate and honor the saint.
Interesting to note, Pope J*hn Paul II does not meet all the requirements, but they are sainting him anyway.
There are several thousand people here for this event, many of them Polish because Pope J*hn Paul II was Polish. We have passed out all the Bibles we had in Polish and we are about out of tracts. We continue to pass out all the other tracts we have and also Bible verses.
Here are a couple links that may help you get a grasp on what is going on. I will also try to post pictures tomorrow.

Pasqua Update
"Buona Pasqua" rang through our ears as we walked around Rome last weekend. People from all over the world were here for this event and most were coming to the Vatic*n area. Italians dressed as if for a wedding and tourists dressed in their most comfortable, were intermingled as they made their way down the streets.
Friday evening found our whole family around the Coliseum in anticipation of hundreds arriving for the annual Good Friday service. We were not disappointed in the numbers. For several hours, we took turns passing out Bible Verses to the crowd and having Dave follow close behind passing out John and Romans in several different languages. This is a very fun event for us because there are SO MANY people and many come up to you asking for whatever it is you are passing out. They are waiting for several hours for the service to begin and so it is also a wonderful time for them to read! We provide the literature!
Saturday evening, because we are on a good and direct train line, we were able to go in to Rome again and stay for a couple hours. We are very thankful for the opportunity to stay in Rome later at night and reach some who are not there during the day. While passing out tracts and John and Romans, a tour group came through where we were standing. Dave yelled out to the group of people from India, "Free English Bibles". The tour guide climbed up on the wall behind him and yelled out to the group, "If anyone would like a Bible in English please come over to this man." Dave was able to pass out 25-30 Bibles to this group!
Sunday morning, because of past difficulties, it was decided that Dave and our son would go in to the Vatic*n area alone to pass out tracts. They were able to pass out hundreds to the crowds attending the service there and then they were also able to pass out more after the service was over.
In all, we have passed out nearly 8000 tracts and a few hundred John and Romans. The numbers do not mean so much except that for each one that is passed out, someone has the opportunity to read God's words to them. We pray that the Holy Spirit would work and that souls would be saved. We know many of you are praying as well!
Maybe you have heard in the news about the upcoming "Sainting" of two previous p*pes. This is to take place this Sunday. People are beginning to come for this event and the city is buzzing! Please come back in the next couple days to read more about this important event and why we need your prayers!

God is Good - All the Time!
Little boys, as they are growing up, like to play battle. We read of different battles in history and we hear of battles going on even now across the world. We can even find various battles in the Old Testament.
When we speak of spiritual battles, how many of us run away from the topic or can't really relate? I'm sure I would have been one that felt this way at one time or another.
Spiritual battles are being won and lost all around us. Sometimes we are called to go in to battle for someone and other times we are not even aware of these battles… in ourselves or others. Ephesians 6 describes what we are to do in these battles and acknowledges that these battles do exist and that we can be victorious! As we draw closer and closer to the Lord, we fight these battles on a daily basis!
My flesh hates these battles. I grow weary. Just the other day I was reading in Psalms and found encouragement though. It is best to read the context surrounding the passage, but I loved reading "my flesh also shall rest in hope" Psalm 16:9.
Our week has been full of battles. It is a sign that we are doing God's work. The enemy wants to stop us and thus begins a battle. Our hope comes from knowing that even when we are weak, God is fighting these battles for us! Even in our weakness, God is Good…. All the Time!
The battles have come in the form of transportation failures, internet problems, sickness and attitudes. In EACH situation, we have been blessed with miracles and victories! One such instance was Thursday evening. Our internet had not been working all day and I was very sick. Dave wanted to send an email to our pastor and we were looking forward to listening to some good Bible teaching as encouragement. Both of these required internet and we were about to give up hope of it working at the appropriate time. In just enough time, our internet started working for Dave to send the email and for us to hear the Bible teaching… including a much needed prayer time. As soon as this was over, the internet stopped working again for the rest of the night. What a blessing! We give God the praise for that Victory!
You are asked to come in to the battle with us. Please join us in praying! We are grateful for those of you who are so faithful in lifting us up. Your prayers encourage and strengthen us and help us in these victories!

Gearing Up for the Week Ahead!
Our internet has been slow going the last couple days, but we are back on for now! I am taking advantage of it while I can!
Last night, we went in to Rome and had a nice, little family outing. It was fun to walk around the streets of Rome and see a different taste of the city. Usually, when we have stayed outside of Rome, the trains to our home have not been late enough to really enjoy Rome at night. This time, we have been very blessed with an apartment in a great location for train travel.
While in Rome, we were heading in to an elevator to get on a subway down below and there was a couple in the elevator with us. We asked them where they were from and they said they were from Korea. Dave pulled out a Korean tract and gave one to each of them. When the lady saw that it was in her own language, she gave a little cry and covered her mouth in astonishment and excitement. What a different response than we are used to seeing in America! We pray that these two people would be saved and that they would take the gospel back to their country.
We are gearing up for the next week. Tract and Bible Distribution will go in to full force this week as tomorrow starts with Palm Sunday. We will also be going to the Good Friday service and than finishing the week with Easter. Thousands upon thousands throng the V*tican area during these times. People come from all over the world!
Please be in prayer for us, especially this week. We have known from past experience that there are spiritual attacks against us during this time. Our energy quickly fades as the week progresses. Please pray we would go in the grace of our Lord Jesus and in the power of His strength.
Please also pray for those who will receive tracts. If one person got saved this week, it would be well worth everything! Pray that we would be in the right place at the right time to give the Gospel to that person whose heart God has been preparing.

Our Week in Review
We have now been in Italy almost two weeks. This last week has been a little more difficult as we have settled in and felt the reality of being away from friends and family. Nevertheless, it has been a good week to see what God has done. We know that this is right where we should be for the time being and it is exciting to be in the midst of God's work here in Italy.
Tract Distribution -
Dave has been able to distribute tracts every day this week and has met people from all over the world. John and Romans have gone out in English and in Italian and the smiles that are given in return are priceless! There was even a "kid day" this last week as it seemed like quite a few tracts went out to children that day. Dave has noticed that there seems to be quite a bit more people on the streets and visiting the V*tican. This is great! We have now printed out 10,000 tracts through a missionary here who has a printer and so we will be passing out all of those before we leave in May.
On the Home Front -
We have started our school routine while here in Italy. This keeps the children on schedule for completing their yearly studies and helps them stay occupied as well. It seemed like we struggled with staying occupied enough this last week as we watched it rain every day! We were able to get a few hundred tracts ready for Daddy to pass out, so that was a blessing!
Our missionary friends here in Italy were able to come over for the day today. We had a great day of fellowship with them and they were so wonderful to take us to the store in their car in order to stock up on all of the heavier items that are no fun to walk home with.
Please Pray -
Please pray for Margherita and Anna, our neighbors we have met so far. Please pray for good, clear communication of the Gospel with them. Please also pray for Henry, a man that we met at the grocery store. He is saved but wants to attend church. We would also ask that you continue to pray for direction and wisdom every day as Dave goes out and wants to share Christ with those whose hearts God is softening.

Answer to Prayer!
Thank you to all of those who prayed for our day on Sunday!
In Dave's own words, "The Lord Jesus gave to me lots of grace today. His grace is sufficient. The knee hurt briefly on two occasions. I am very thankful today…" Now, he is recovering from the Marathon well and is hoping to start passing out more tracts tomorrow.
Dave told me that I wasn't to let him forget this day! I hope to not be forgetting it too quickly either. God's grace is sufficient and we are most humbled!
Not only did Dave have a good run and a good day, but the rest of our family is very thankful as well! We started out our day very tired, but made the train in time. The sky was rainy and Ashlyn said she wasn't feeling well and then got sick on the train… twice! We were already near Rome, so the only thing to do was to keep going. I decided to let the other two girls run the 5k without me. My, that was bravery on their part! This momma had to trust that the Lord was going to watch over them too! When I finally saw their faces again, in the midst of at least a thousand, I was so very thankful! Ashlyn did better as the day went on, but the sky sure made it very wet! We just kept trudging through the city of Rome and saw Dave along his route. It was always good to see his face too… and smiling!
We would like to thank those who prayed for this day. God has answered all of our prayers and His grace has helped us come through! We are not running in vain and neither are you!
We made it home safely and in time to watch our church service through Live Streaming…. the perfect ending to our Lord's Day! The really fun thing was hearing the Bible text … The LORD hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad. Ps. 126:3 How applicable is that!

Maratona di Roma
Dave will be running the Rome Marathon tomorrow. This is a highlight of his trip, because he can pass out tracts near the Vatican and get away with it! He will have a few hundred Scripture tracts with him and as he is running, he will pass them out to the crowd gathered around. People reach their hands out to see what he has.
Please be praying for him. As we mentioned before, he has some physical pain right now in his knees. Please pray that He would have a successful race tomorrow … that he will be able to finish the race and not have run it in vain. Please be praying for the people that he passes the tracts out to. Please pray that their hearts would be soft and that the seed of truth will be planted deep!
We are all running a race! May we all run for the incorruptible prize!

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

We Have Arrived!
Praise God, We have arrived!
After having a little bit of a rocky start to our travels, we were so glad to be able to make our second flight in time! We were able to text a few people to pray and we're so thankful that they were willing. Our first flight was late and it looked like we were going to have only 30 minutes to get to our International flight. Thankfully, it ended up being a little less than hour. Our gates were not close together, but we had the time needed!
We arrived in Rome and the people we are renting our apartment from were at the airport to pick us up. This was a huge blessing as well!
There is a little grocery store just around the corner and so we made some supper, unpacked a little and then went to bed. Praise God, all of us were able to sleep all night. We pulled ourselves out of bed around 9:30am (3:30am Central Time) and started our day! We are all a bit tired today, but we are determined to stay up without any naps!
We have started passing out tracts to those we meet as we walk. We walked around where we are living and the little town that we are in looks like it will be a great fit for us. The biggest blessing is that the train is just a short walk away and it takes us directly in to Rome without any connections.
* Prayer Request - Please be praying for Dave's knee to heal from a recent injury. We do a lot of walking here and it is hurting him pretty bad.

Europe 2014
God is amazing! … but you already knew that, right?!
We never cease to be amazed at what He is doing and how He uses us! If you are familiar with the song, "Who am I", than you know a little about how we feel.
We are off to the airport in just a little while for our 5th Mission Trip to Italy. This year, we will also be heading to Germany. We hope you will continue to visit our blog on a regular basis so that we can tell you more about what God has done and so that we can update you on specific prayer requests. We are so grateful for all the people who are holding us up in prayer.
*Prayer Request - For our travel, for safety, for our luggage, for strength, wisdom and clarity and for the people who we will have contact with. Please pray for soft hearts and for salvation.
