Pasqua Update

"Buona Pasqua" rang through our ears as we walked around Rome last weekend. People from all over the world were here for this event and most were coming to the Vatic*n area. Italians dressed as if for a wedding and tourists dressed in their most comfortable, were intermingled as they made their way down the streets.

Friday evening found our whole family around the Coliseum in anticipation of hundreds arriving for the annual Good Friday service. We were not disappointed in the numbers. For several hours, we took turns passing out Bible Verses to the crowd and having Dave follow close behind passing out John and Romans in several different languages. This is a very fun event for us because there are SO MANY people and many come up to you asking for whatever it is you are passing out. They are waiting for several hours for the service to begin and so it is also a wonderful time for them to read! We provide the literature!

Saturday evening, because we are on a good and direct train line, we were able to go in to Rome again and stay for a couple hours. We are very thankful for the opportunity to stay in Rome later at night and reach some who are not there during the day. While passing out tracts and John and Romans, a tour group came through where we were standing. Dave yelled out to the group of people from India, "Free English Bibles". The tour guide climbed up on the wall behind him and yelled out to the group, "If anyone would like a Bible in English please come over to this man." Dave was able to pass out 25-30 Bibles to this group!

Sunday morning, because of past difficulties, it was decided that Dave and our son would go in to the Vatic*n area alone to pass out tracts. They were able to pass out hundreds to the crowds attending the service there and then they were also able to pass out more after the service was over.

In all, we have passed out nearly 8000 tracts and a few hundred John and Romans. The numbers do not mean so much except that for each one that is passed out, someone has the opportunity to read God's words to them. We pray that the Holy Spirit would work and that souls would be saved. We know many of you are praying as well!

Maybe you have heard in the news about the upcoming "Sainting" of two previous p*pes. This is to take place this Sunday. People are beginning to come for this event and the city is buzzing! Please come back in the next couple days to read more about this important event and why we need your prayers!

Beautiful. It is such a blessing to know that people are actually eager and asking for what you can give. Keep up the good work and praying God give you all safety, courage, strength and eager souls to hear the word.

Hebrews 11:13,15,16

... These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and were PERSUADED of them, and EMBRACED them, and CONFESSED that they were STRANGERS and PILGRIMS on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country... But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
