Week One - Update

Dave has been in Italy for nearly a week now. Time flies when you're having fun serving the Lord!

He arrived safe and sound but needed to go to Florence to pick up the keys to the apartment. Remember the one from last spring? The one that God put in our lap and provided just when we needed it? Dave is able to stay there again. We praise the Lord once more for His provision. We're also continuing in prayer for the owner of the apartment. Dave should be able to get some extra one on one time with him later in the trip.

August is different then April, but Dave is adjusting to the humidity and warmer weather! He is also adjusting his schedule a bit too, so that he can be in town in the cooler parts of the day.

Dave has taken quite a few tracts in extra languages this trip. He has added 15 other languages to the selection he already has and he's been able to pass a few of those out. We may never know until Heaven what kind of impact these tracts have, but it brings joy to my heart to know that a Dutch tract and a Ukrainian tract and a Norwegian tract have all gone out to those who may not have heard the Gospel otherwise. More continue to go out and it is not us but only because of "Christ in us, the hope of glory"(Col. 1:27)!

Mormons have taken DVD's. We pray for their salvation. Vietnamese boys, as they were playing soccer, talked with Dave and took a tract. They were happy to see the tract in Vietnamese. Italians are taking tracts, specifically one named Maria Vittoria, and we pray for them.

Daily life goes on here at home, but always in the forefront of my mind, I wonder and pray for my sweetheart in Italy and for the lives that he is touching. Already, we have seen Satan's attacks on our family and on Dave. What more can we do but to stand strong, fight and trust our Heavenly Father who loves us and sent us. The battle is the Lord's!

Thank you for your faithful prayers!

Hebrews 11:13,15,16

... These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and were PERSUADED of them, and EMBRACED them, and CONFESSED that they were STRANGERS and PILGRIMS on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country... But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
